FAQs

What is GEAR (Gemini Enterprise Agent Ready)?

A no-cost skilling program designed to help developers, builders, and technical leaders learn to build, deploy, and scale enterprise-grade AI agents.

How do I apply?

To apply you will need to sign up for GEAR with a valid work email address that is linked to a Google Workspace / Cloud account. Personal, university, or non-Workspace email accounts cannot be used, as they will not allow you to access required program activities like Google Groups and Google Meet.

How do I update my application if my company email or desired certification track changes?

To update your application, click “Update application” at the top of the registration page, then “View settings” to review your submission and make changes. Don't forget to click "Submit" once you've finished. You will not receive an email confirming your updated application, so please refer to this window again if you’d like to review your updated details.

Can I change the email address associated with my GEAR membership?

There is no way to change your email address once you've signed up for GEAR. If you signed up for GEAR with a personal email, you need to create a new Google Developer Program profile with your corporate email to apply to Get Certified.

What happens if my application is not accepted?

Each cohort has limited capacity to ensure attendees get quality interaction with Google instructors. Spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis during the registration window.

What timezones are localized language cohorts?

Localized language cohorts will be offered in timezones that correspond with the regions/countries specified.

What is the expected time commitment?

Cohorts have varying lengths and time commitments — with the longest lasting 9 weeks. Check each cohort's details to understand its time commitment, but you can expect no less than 9 hours per week to participate in live sessions, complete self-paced labs, and manage your independent study.

Do I have to attend the virtual sessions live?

If you are registered for the Generative AI Leader (GAIL) certification track, attendance during Stage 1 is required to advance in the program.

Otherwise, while you can review materials at your own pace, we strongly recommend attending the weekly virtual sessions live. Joining in real time allows you to participate in open discussions and interact directly with Google experts, ensuring you get the most out of the program.

How do I get a Google Certification exam voucher?

Exam vouchers are not provided automatically. To earn your voucher, you must complete all required learning milestones — which includes participation, finishing all labs, and earning skill badges — within your specific cohort's timeline.

How do I control what e-mails I receive?

You control the emails you receive from the Google Developer Program by visiting your profile in the Builders Hub and clicking "Settings".

Who do I reach out to if I have questions about Get Certified or GEAR?
