Manage demand channel settings

To manage the data you share with demand channels, you can review and update your demand channel settings. You can apply different settings to different demand channels. For example, you can turn on Creative restrictions for Authorized Buyers and turn it off for Open Bidders.

To create exceptions for individual bidders, you can create override groups. Override groups let you apply specific settings to a chosen group of bidders in a demand channel.

Publisher provided signals: video programming signals

Share custom targeting keys and CMS metadata mapped to standardized video programming signals (for instance, Title, Series, Network, and Channel) with demand channels. Passing these real-time signals on RTB bid requests helps third-party buyers plan and forecast Connected TV (CTV) spend.

Note: Before configuring these bidder controls, you must map your custom targeting keys or CMS metadata to the standardized taxonomies or pass these signals directly on the VAST tag.

View or update demand channel settings

You can view and update demand channel settings separately or all at once. For example, you can choose to view only the settings for Authorized Buyers.

  1. Sign in to Google Ad Manager.
  2. Navigate to Signals, then Demand channel settings.

Is your menu different? This navigation is being updated in phases. Learn more about what's changing and where to find pages during the transition.
  3. (Optional) To view settings for a single demand channel, click a filter, such as Authorized Buyers.
By default, All demand channels is selected.
  4. To view the details of a setting, click Expand Expand or Expand all settings.
    • Toggle the switch on On or off Off.
    • For Video programming signals:
      1. Locate "Publisher provided signals: Video programming signals."
      2. Turn on   On  the setting for the demand channel (like, Open Bidding or Google Demand).
      3. Turn on   On  the signal that apply for that demand channel (Title, Series, Network, or Channel).
Tip: When a card is collapsed, it displays a summary of the enabled configurations.
  5. Click Save.

View, edit, or create override groups

You can add individual bidders to override groups you create, and select the settings for the group. The settings you apply to an override group apply to the bidders in it, overriding the general settings for the demand channel.

When creating or editing an override group, the "Publisher provided signals: Video programming signals" card is available for bidder-specific configurations.

To view and edit bidder groups, enable the "View bidders" and "Edit bidders" permissions. By default, these permissions include the following user roles:

  • View bidders: admin, executive, trafficker, salesperson, sales manager
  • Edit bidders: admin, trafficker, salesperson, sales manager

Video programming signals in override groups

When managing override groups, customize video programming signal sharing settings for specific sets of bidders:

  • Configure overrides: When creating or editing an override group, expand the "Publisher provided signals: Video programming signals" card to select which signals (Title, Series, Network, or Channel) are allowed for that specific bidder group
  • View statuses: To avoid horizontal table clutter, active configurations are appended directly to the existing "Publisher provided signals" column in your Override Groups overview table.
  • Check enabled signals: The column displays how many signals are allowed (such as "Video programming: 2 of 4"). Hovering or clicking this status displays a list of the enabled signals.
  • Run experiments: If you modify these settings for a bidder group experiment, the standard experiment displays next to the modified field.
