How to start showing your product pages across Google

Participate in the CSS program to allow your CSS product pages to appear when customers search for products across Google.

This article outlines the steps you need to take in CSS Center to manage your participation in this opportunity and set ranking preferences for product pages showing organically across Google.

Opt in to show your CSS product pages across Google

Before you begin, make sure that you are compliant with the minimum requirements to prominently show your CSS product pages on Google.

  1. In your CSS Center account, navigate to the Your business Businesspage, then select the Presence on Google tab.
  2. Click the Get started button after you’ve read and accepted the Terms of Service.
  3. You’re now opted in to the opportunity and will be able to show your product pages in free listings and Shopping ads across Google once you’ve finished onboarding.
  4. Follow the instructions displayed on the banner.
    • During the onboarding you will need to upload your product data using the API. Learn more about using CSS API.
    • Make sure that you keep submitted product data up to date, as it can influence the success and the speed of the review.

Opt out of showing your CSS product pages across Google

  1. In your CSS Center account, navigate to the Your business Businesspage, then select the Presence on Google tab.
  2. To stop showing your CSS product pages in either free listings or in Shopping ads, click the appropriate button
  3. Confirm your selection in the dialog box.
  4. You’re now opted out of the opportunity, and your CSS product pages will no longer be visible to users searching for products on Google.
Note: You can choose to opt into any of the opportunities at a later stage by clicking "Get started" and following the instructions in the UI.

Set ranking preferences for product pages showing organically across Google

Prioritize ranking signals is an optional feature that lets you set ranking preferences among your CSS product pages. When enabled, you can sort which ranking signal to highlight and show for free listings.

After you provide the necessary product data, you can define ranking signals and start to control your ranking preferences that will be used among your product pages.

Setup and control your ranking signals.

  1. In your CSS Center account, navigate to the Your business Business page, and then select the Presence on Google tab.
  2. Under "Show your CSS product pages across Google", turn on "Prioritize ranking signals.
  3. Follow the UI to define to set your preferred sorting logic, set your signal order logic (for example, prioritize by "Lowest Price" or "Highest Rating Count") and ensure you save.
  4. You can turn off prioritize ranking signals if you decide you no longer want to use it.
Note: You can set rankings for all the available signals. Ranking signals which don’t have product data provided, will not work.
