Google Pics is an image creation and editing tool powered by Gemini (Nano Banana). With Google Pics, you can design, generate, and edit images with prompts, or use existing images as style and element references for your creations.

You can use Google Pics on your computer with the 2 most recent versions of these browsers:
- Chrome
- Firefox
- Windows only: Microsoft Edge
Tip: Other browsers may work, but you might not be able to use all of the features.
Media & file types compatible with Pics
You can upload these image types from your computer or from Google Drive: .jpg, .png, .bmp, .tiff.
Upload and edit an image
You can use Google Pics to generate new images from existing images.
- On your computer, open Google Pics.
- To add images to the canvas, you can drop or select an image from:
- Your computer
- Drive
- Google Photos
- Your computer
- You can now edit your image:
Create a new image from a prompt
You can use Google Pics to generate new images from text prompts.
- On your computer, open Google Pics.
- Write a prompt in the bottom bar describing the image you want to create
click
submit.
- Optional: You can click Add images
to add images as reference.
- To choose from the generated versions in the panel on the left, click on an image.
- Optional: If you want to see more options, click Retry
.
- You can now edit your image:
- With a prompt
- With another image as reference.

Add images as reference
You can reuse style or elements from existing images on your new generated image.
- On your computer, open Google Pics.
- To add an image to the bottom bar from your computer, you can:
- Drag and drop
- Copy-paste
- Click Add images
- Describe in a prompt how you want to reference this image to generate a new one. For example:
- Use the blue in this image as the color for the background of my new image.
Add style reference
You can reference the style of an existing image in your new generated image. This feature is available in English.
- On your computer, open Google Pics.
- At the bottom, to add an image to use as a style reference select Style
. You can:
- Upload from Computer
- Add from Drive
- Import from Photos
- Upload from Computer
